On Wednesday June 22nd when J.Reed was getting to work he noticed a lady by the station looking very weak and she suddenly sat down on the hot sidewalk. J quickly when to get her a bottle of water and ask if she was ok.
When he walked up to her, he noticed that she didn’t have any shoes on.
J then asked if he could get some for her. She said yes and J proceeded to have the Kindness Crew rush to a shoe store and buy her some tennis shoes and socks, but by the time the Crew got back she was gone.
Thursday June 23rd one of the Crew noticed the lady walking in our complex again and asked if she still would like the shoes, at this point she had on sandles that were falling apart and she gladly said yes!
Romeo jumped into action and grabbed the shoes and socks along with a Dignity Health bag full of water and snack to keep her going during this tough time in her life.
We also give her information on finding shelter here in Bakersfield.
